Rol & Responsibilities

The Database Backup Administrator is responsible for supporting Recovery Tests for databases supporting mission critical applications.
The resource needs to document the Database Recovery process and procedures along with Database Recovery Test and Validation plans.
The database Administrator should be well versed on various DR methodologies and should have exposure to Backup Tools in Windows/Unix/Linux Environments.
Additionally, DB Admin will be responsible for critical aspects of database administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, capacity/resource planning, performance tuning, backup and recovery strategy, promoting process improvement, problem solving, adhering to security policies of Oracle/SQL/DB2 databases for the bank. Successful candidate will collaborate with architects, infrastructure engineers, application teams, and end users in Mexico and across US

Technical: Tools and Skills

Manage Database Recovery Drills for mission critical banking applications.
Work with various team to co-ordinate Application Recovery tests.
Plan, design and implement application and disaster recovery architecture
Manage back-ups and recovery procedures
Server configuration, migration, and other implementations
Monitor root cause analysis and resolutions
Monitor databases for proper performance
Manage security and report incidents
Minimum Requirements:
5+ years Oracle or SQL or DB2 database administration experience.
Experience with the following: Unix, Linux, Windows, Net backup, TSM.
Expert in various Oracle/SQL/DB2 Recovery Technologies.
Experience with Policy documentations, database migration, performance tuning, and optimization, and setting up and managing database connections
